Introducing: The Artisan Show at Maxstoke Castle
History and heritage crafts unite for the first time
The Artisan Show is coming to the historic grounds of Maxstoke Castle for the first time, promising a weekend of British craftsmanship, heritage, and living history like no other.
Visitors will discover the finest handmade crafts, while enjoying an exciting new feature: the Knights of Honour reenactment. Step back into 14th-century England as history is bought to life with a fully immersive, living history encampment. Experience traditional medieval methods including fletching, candle making, ceramics, cooking displays, apothecary practices and a working forge.
Leigh and Becky Wood, Founders of The Artisan Show said “This event is truly unique in that it will be showcasing a combination of centuries-old skills as well alongside modern creativity from our 90 handpicked contemporary artists. The event also features live music and delicious food and drink from local, independent producers. Maxstoke Castle is rarely open to the public so this is a unique opportunity to meet our artisans and makers in a very special space.”
Richard Cooper, Knights of Honour Secretary said: “We are hugely excited to join the Artisan Show at Maxstoke Castle. It is very important that local skills and talents are recognised and celebrated. The vision to host the event at a Castle and to then bring the history to life with the help of Knights of Honour is a stroke of brilliance. All the members of the group are thrilled to be part of this experience and can’t wait to see you there.”
Entry includes parking, access into the Castle grounds, the living encampment and to all the craft exhibitions. Please note that inside access to Maxstoke Castle itself is not available during this event.
Tickets are limited, so early booking is strongly advised. Wheelchair users are very welcome. Please note, the majority of exhibitors are located on grassed areas and dogs are not permitted on site.

About Maxstoke Castle
Completed in 1345, Maxstoke Castle is one of the oldest privately owned and continuously inhabited castles in England. The Castle is surrounded by a moat and is quietly nestled in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, whilst only being a stone’s throw from the bustle of Birmingham and Coventry.
Today, Maxstoke Castle remains a privately-owned historic site. Deemed a hidden gem in Warwickshire, its gardens and grounds provide a beautiful setting for filming opportunities, private hire events and immersive experiences that combine history and cultural entertainment.
