Local Business Champion Wins Highly Commended Award at Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards 2025
Jeni Sellick has been honoured with the Highly Commended award for Employee of the Year at the prestigious Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards 2025, recognising over two decades of exceptional dedication to business growth and community development.
The award celebrates Jeni’s 26-year commitment to West Midlands House, where her consistent efforts to go above and beyond her role have made a lasting impact. Beyond her primary role, providing flexible workspaces, training and meeting rooms, coworking and virtual offices, Jeni has been instrumental in building thriving business communities in Willenhall and the surrounding areas, demonstrating a passion for regional economic development that extends far beyond typical employment responsibilities.
“I am beyond proud to receive this recognition,” said Jeni. “These awards are so important because they showcase the resilience and pride amongst Black Country businesses. For 26 years, I’ve been committed to helping businesses grow, not just within West Midlands House but Willenhall and the wide Black Country.”
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards celebrate excellence across the region’s business landscape, recognising individuals and organisations that demonstrate outstanding achievement, innovation, and commitment to the local economy. The Employee of the Year category specifically honours those who have made exceptional contributions to their organisations and communities.
Jeni’s work in fostering business community networks in Willenhall has created valuable opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing and mutual support among local enterprise, from netwalking in the Willenhall Memorial Park, a supportive Menopause Café to women’s networking group emPower. This grassroots approach to business development has strengthened the economic fabric of the area and helped numerous businesses navigate challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
The awards ceremony took place on 20 November 2025 at The Halls in Wolverhampton, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs and community champions from across the Black Country to celebrate regional success stories.
