Remembrance Sunday 2026: Events and Services Across the Black Country
Communities across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall will come together this November to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to their country. Here’s a guide to local Remembrance events, including locations and timings where available.
Remembrance Sunday falls on Sunday, November 8, this year, with Armistice Day taking place on Wednesday, November 11.
Most services will stop for the two-minute silence at 11am. Where arrangements for 2026 haven’t been confirmed yet, we’ve said so, and we’ll update this guide as details come in.
Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton City Centre
The city’s main Remembrance Sunday service traditionally takes place at the Cenotaph in St Peter’s Square, Wolverhampton, WV1 1TS.
The civic ceremony brings together veterans, serving members of the Armed Forces, representatives of local organisations and members of the public.
The service includes the traditional two-minute silence at 11am, followed by wreath-laying. A second service follows inside St Peter’s Church.
A parade has previously departed from Wulfruna Street at approximately 10.30am, although arrangements for 2026 are still to be confirmed. Last year it was led by the West Midlands Fire Service Band through Princes Square, Lichfield Street and Exchange Street into St Peter’s Square, and Wulfruna Street was closed from 8.30am to 11am.
Bilston
This year’s parade is back on its usual route. It will form up outside Greggs on the High Street at 10.20am and set off at 10.30am for the war memorial, where the Remembrance service starts at 10.50am.
There will be road closures during the parade, and the public are asked to follow any instructions from marshals.
Poppy sellers have been out and about in Bilston since October 24. Anyone who would like to volunteer for the Poppy Appeal, ask about the parade or order a wreath can call or WhatsApp Jamie on 07890 684501.
Wednesfield
In previous years Wednesfield’s Remembrance service has been held at St Thomas’ Church. Arrangements for 2026 are still to be confirmed.
Dutch War Graves Service
The Royal British Legion usually holds a service at the Dutch war graves in Merridale Cemetery, Jeffcock Road, on the Saturday before Remembrance Sunday. It remembers the soldiers of the Dutch Princess Irene Brigade, who were stationed at Wrottesley Park during the Second World War. Details for 2026 are still to be confirmed.
Residents are also encouraged to look out for remembrance services in other communities, including Tettenhall.
Dudley
Dudley Town Centre: Remembrance Sunday

Walsall
Remembrance events will also be taking place across the borough of Walsall, with local communities gathering at war memorials and cenotaphs. Walsall Council hasn’t confirmed its 2026 arrangements yet, so the details below are based on last year.

Last year the parade, with veterans and a brass band, started in Market Place and went along Stafford Street to the cenotaph, with a silence at 11am. Wreaths were then laid at the smaller cenotaph in Portobello, where Somerford Place meets The Keyway.
