Birmingham self storage illuminated with 60,000 LEDs
Pink Storage, a technology innovator in the self storage sector, has raised the bar with the installation of 60,000 individually controlled LED lights across its Birmingham site. This cutting-edge enhancement has transformed the facility into an interactive, secure, and visually striking environment, setting another new high standard for self storage in the UK.
Soon to be rolled out across all 24 of Pink’s sites, the LEDs are fully programmable, enabling real-time communication with both customers and staff. Key interactive features include:

· Pink Pulse – Idle mode representing the brand “heartbeat”
· Green Arrows – Indicating gate opening
· Red X – Payment required
· Red/Blue Alert – Intruder detection
Powered by Glediator software and advanced LED controllers, each LED functions as a single “pixel,” creating dynamic visual effects, from subtle brand pulses to attention-grabbing alerts. Beyond aesthetics, the system improves roadside visibility, helping customers locate the facility quickly.
CEO Scott Evans commented, “Pink Storage continues to drive its AI ambitions forward with multiple forward-thinking projects, positioning itself as a world-class leader in storage solutions. And it doesn’t stop here, humanoid robots, autonomous drones, and more are all part of our roadmap.”
“By combining interactive lighting, automation, and advanced security, Pink Storage is leading the industry and redefining what modern, high-tech self storage can offer.”
