Compton Care Unveils Inspiring New Artwork by Local Illustrator Charlotte Webb

Earlier this year, Compton Care invited local artists to take part in a creative challenge to transform Compton Hall with a fabulous and meaningful piece of art. Today, we’re thrilled to reveal the winning design, now beautifully installed as a striking mural that brings meaning, colour and inspiration to the space.

The winning entry was created by Charlotte Webb, a Wolverhampton-based illustrator. Charlotte was at Compton Hall today to see the official unveiling of her artwork, which now proudly adorns the exterior of the building.

The judging panel, led by Compton Care CEO Rachel Overfield, selected Charlotte’s design for its creativity, emotional depth, and ability to capture the spirit of Compton. The artwork is now a permanent feature of Compton Hall, created to inspire patients, their loved ones, and all who visit.

Rachel Overfield commented: “At Compton Care, we’re always striving to find new and meaningful ways to enhance the experience of our patients. Every detail matters – from the care we provide to the environment we create. We believe that surroundings can uplift, comfort, and inspire, which is why this project means so much to us. Well done to the Charlotte for capturing that spirit so beautifully.”

Charlotte Webb said: “It’s been an absolute honour to create something so meaningful for Compton Care. As a local artist, I feel deeply connected to the community, and being able to contribute to a space that offers so much compassion and support is incredibly special. Seeing it come to life on the building today was truly emotional. I’m so proud to be part of something that will inspire patients, families, and staff every day.”

Rachel added: “We’re thrilled to be working with such a talented artist as Charlotte. Her illustrations are fabulous, and I’m delighted to announce that everyone now has the chance to enjoy her work home. Twelve of her beautiful designs will feature in this year’s Compton Care calendar, along with the cover artwork for our Compton Care diaries, both available from our Compton stores.
